Guangzhou, China, May 6, 2024 - EHang Holdings Limited (Nasdaq: EH), a leader in urban air mobility (UAM) technology, today achieved a significant breakthrough by completing the first passenger-carrying demo flight in Abu Dhabi with its EH216-S pilotless electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. This landmark event, not only for the United Arab Emirates but also for the Middle East, marks a significant moment in urban air mobility. The company also successfully showcased the EH216-F, designed for high-rise firefighting, and the EH216-L for aerial logistics, highlighting the versatile applications of its pilotless eVTOL aircraft in the UAE.

The EH216 series, including EH216-S, EH216-L, and EH216-F, demonstrated their capabilities with several autonomous flights at the Emirates Falcons Aviation Club in Al Ali, Abu Dhabi, receiving approval from the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE. Mr. Mohamed Al Dhaheri, a Multi-Level Group (MLG) board member and EHang's local strategic partner, participated in the EH216-S flight. Esteemed guests, including Emirati royalty, civil aviation authorities, government officials, and media representatives, applauded these demo flights.

The EH216 series is engineered to transform urban mobility by addressing challenges such as emissions and congestion. These pilotless eVTOL aircraft have a compact fuselage, high redundancy design, and intelligent cluster management, promoting safety, efficiency, and scalable operations. EH216-L's debut demo flight in the UAE

Following the unmanned EH216-S demo flights at the DRIFTx event on April 25, 2024, these recent flights continue to showcase the fruitful outcomes of EHang’s ongoing developments in the UAE, a testament to the strong collaboration with the GCAA, MLG, and Wings Logistics Hub. EHang works hand in hand with partners and government entities in the UAE to design and establish eVTOL vertiports, preparing for the launch of commercial UAM routes.

EHang has been expanding its presence in the UAE since December 2023, beginning with its entrance into the Smart and Autonomous Vehicle Industries Cluster and forming a strategic partnership with Wings Logistics Hub. In April 2024, EHang further solidified its commitment by establishing a strategic collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office and MLG to propel eVTOL development in the UAE.
