Ballyboy Airfield
Ballyboy Airfield, also known as Athboy Aerodrome (ICAO: EIMH), is a small airfield situated in County Meath, Ireland, approximately 40 minutes from Dublin by motorway.
The airfield, which has become one of the best-recognized in Ireland, was first established in 1994 with the landing of a Piper Cub J5A on a grass runway on the Cullen family farm. It's located 2 nautical miles northeast of Athboy, a town in County Meath, and operates outside controlled airspace. Ballyboy Airfield is equipped with a 600-meter grass runway, hangarage, and modern Avgas and Jet A-1 fuel systems, with the option to arrange mogas from Athboy town, which is about 2km away .
The airfield is licensed by the Aeronautical Services Department of the Irish Aviation Authority and features one runway designated 11/29 with a grass surface. It provides aircraft parking and limited maintenance facilities. The airfield also hosts the Irish Historic Flight Foundation, which has moved into a purpose-built hangar at Ballyboy, housing its collection of vintage aircraft .
