The Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC) is Thailand's premier convention center in the heart of Bangkok. Here's a comprehensive overview of this landmark venue:

 

History and Development:

The QSNCC was established in 1989 specifically to host the 46th Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund. Construction began on November 1, 1989, and was completed in just 16 months—remarkably faster than the typical 40 months for projects of similar magnitude. On August 29, 1991, King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit officially inaugurated the center, which was named in honor of Queen Sirikit's 60th birthday.

After serving as Thailand's first international convention center for nearly three decades and hosting over 20,000 MICE events, the QSNCC closed its doors in April 2019 for a comprehensive 12 billion baht renovation. The facility reopened on September 12, 2022, completely transformed and modernized.

The renovated QSNCC is five times larger than its predecessor, boasting a total space of 300,000 square meters. The facility offers:

• 8 spacious exhibition halls

• 4 plenary halls

• 4 ballrooms

• 50 meeting rooms that can be reconfigured as needed

• 78,500 square meters of flexible event space

The venue's centerpiece is a double-level exhibition hall with an impressive 110m x 198m column-free space on the top floor. The Plenary Hall can accommodate up to 6,000 attendees in a theater-style arrangement.

Architecture and Design:

The QSNCC embraces a modern, elegant design that thoughtfully reflects Thai identity while incorporating principles of sustainability and well-being. During the renovation, special attention was paid to preserving precious art objects created by Thailand's master artists and showcasing specific Thai craftsmanship to international audiences.

The facility features state-of-the-art technology throughout, including advanced audio systems from HARMAN Professional Solutions that combine products from JBL, Crown, Soundcraft, dbx, and BSS. This technological upgrade was a key priority to ensure the center's long-term success and strengthen Thailand's position as a world-class MICE destination.

Location and Accessibility:

The QSNCC is strategically located at 60 Ratchadaphisek Road in the Khlong Toei district of Bangkok. It offers exceptional accessibility:
